Some of All my Fears

When I was really young, I was afraid of the dark.
Anything could be in there; that scared me.
I was afraid of mean kids beating me up,
bees stinging me, dogs biting me.
I remember once not sleeping all night,
afraid to put my legs under the covers 
because of snakes in my bed.

High school was a time to fear

This is the last poem to come out of this fall's poetry workshop. I think it speaks for itself. I'm now going to focus on a number of my other poems that are fairly close to completion, so hopefully some of those will start appearing in the next few months.

That's fear-inspiring!

I did have one real brush with death,
kayaking on the Rogue River in Oregon;

And you're learning kayaking now! Kudos to you...I have much respect. I wouldn't go anywhere near a water activity after that.....
