This is such sad news. I find it hard to understand what could drive someone to do this level of violence against innocent people. Like you, I'm hoping that Canadians are too smart and too decent to reward any politician who tries to get elected on cowardly prejudice.

It really is. And there was so much misinformation and bullshit rumours spread about it in the immediate aftermath and some sources are still perpetuating it despite it being debunked. *sigh*
