I posted an icon tutorial for the first time in years! I signed up for Ask the Maker at icon_talk and finally got off my ass (well, I'm very rather on my ass, considering I have to be at the computer but now I'm just being pedantic) to get them done. One of them, anyway.

Oh let me know how the chicken bacon Hawaiian pineapple kabobs turn out!! That sounds really good.

They worked out really well! I wasn't sure what to expect but the flavour was good and I didn't hate them by the time they were done, LOL. Sometimes I'll try a recipe and it either comes out like shit or I don't want to eat it by the time I'm done because I put so much effort into it. But these were okay! Will make again!

I won't defend that The Last Witch Hunter is a implicitly excellent or stellar movie, because it isn't. But it's fun, and it has Rose Leslie (albeit not with a Scottish accent, alas) and it's just a fun movie.

When my friends and I were making plans to see it I was prepared to laugh my ass off throughout it but as the days led up to premiere weekend there was, of course, a lot of press about it. I was endeared to the movie before watching as a result because I didn't realize how INVESTED Vin Diesel was to this movie. He's a genuine fan of the genre and put so much into it; he wasn't there just to pick up a paycheque like so many actors in genre movies.

His love for what he was doing and the subject matter made me enjoy the movie more than the critics did, for sure.
