Beyoncé has rather passed me by too, although I don't know if that's because her style doesn't suit me or if it's just because I haven't really listened to all that much (my music listening is random to say the least!) I think the thing is, art is really subjective and while sometimes I can see why you can go "Well, this is good art because reasons." it doesn't even always mean you'll like that good art, just that you know it is good. And I don't really know enough about music to do that, it's just "Well, that's a sound, it may or may not be a good sound, I have no feelings about it." I try not to worry about it too much really!

Heh, I've had a few conversations that I would love to have ended with "I am bored now, leave me alone." Unfortunately, I suspect it would open the floodgates of never managing to have a conversation again ...

SAME with Beyonce. I mean, I like some of her songs just fine but I don't think she's all that, or any better than any of a dozen other artists. So I don't really get the hype either.

I guess my confession is that I don't get why these artists and songs are SO GREAT. I've already talked about how music isn't a BIG thing for me. This is so me!! Music isn't a big thing for me, it's basically background noise. Of course there are some tunes/music I enjoy but I have never been one of those people who can't go anywhere with out their tunes. I guess because music isn't a big thing for me, I am often puzzled why some people think some artists are so great. (Although the artist on my list are a bit different than the ones on your list.) My WTF, why do people like them, list includes; Katy Perry, Madonna, Michael Jackson, older Frank Sinatra (younger I kind of understood). Beyonce (along with) David Bowie and younger Frank, I understand the appeal even if I'm not one of the swooning fans.
