Oh God how I wish I oculd be there with you! It is so gorgeous I think I would be so content to sit down and paint....sigh....take me with you next time, 'k?
It is absolutely gorgeous. I'm working on a new book about how to travel around the world by dog carrier. It will save money and be fun, too! So stay tuned for more exciting adventures on a shoestring! We can go anywhere. :)
- the cornfield was actually a flax field. Hobbiton no longer had corn, but the flax reminded me of it, so we took a picture. :)
- "Tookland" is actually on the north island, south of Mt. Ruapehu. It was staggeringly beautiful, every vista.
- The swinging bridges were something else! They were everywhere. If you got too many people on it, you'd set up this harmonic vibration and you felt like you were being bounced off into the gorge or river or whatever you were crossing. They were heaps of fun.
How did I miss this? Oh, this was great. You are such a genius at this. And the scenery! Where was it really? Those hills, the verdure! *chokes on emotion* And you managed to restore the Tom Bombadil sequence! Excellent! Will the restored Barrow downs be next? Complete with hand-lopping and naked frolicking?
Oh, that sculpture! -- I really thought you had set that up yourself. They look just like futuristic acrylic dildos. Or scultures from the rich people's house in "A Clockwork Orange" (whose statues looked like futurisic acrylic dildos).
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your wonderful adventure. You have me laughing out loud - an enormously feel-good moment. You are so witty.
The mountain above the ‘random cliff’ would be the perfect place to carve the faces of the famous-four (hobbits) à la Mount Rushmore.
Hi, Scarlet! Thanks for the correction. I relied on Google to tell me the spelling because I was too lazy to open the map. Silly Google; it can't spell. *fixes*
I liked Redcliff's very much. The t-shirt was an extra surprise. I mean, they have it displayed and all, but we would have walked right past it unless I got lucky and looked round. That was a fun bit.
I'm so glad you're enjoying my silly mockumentary about your fair country. Please feel free to chip in with other comments. I appreciate it! Cheers. :)

Precisely my thought when I saw it. It even looks like that one bit would rock! :-D

That was Maggie's doing. But I must say, this is such a fun adventure-- both reliving it and sharing it with everyone. *hugs*

As a local, however, I feel it's my duty to point out that it's spelled Te Anau, not Te Anua. Thank you for your attention. *blushes*
That T-shirt at Redcliff's is cool, eh? - I like Elijah's neat, modest signature.
