Barrel crept closer, and looked down at Sam compassionately. “And don’t you worry about this fellow, either. I’ve known Sam Gamgee all my life. He’s tough as leather. You can bang him up a good deal, and he won’t break. Not Sam.”
awww~!!! That is the best quote of the chapter, me thinks. :)
excavation comes!
awww yay~ help comes indeed!
and i like the OCs Griff and Barrel--pretty optimistic in a very tense situation.

and i like Frodo being conscientious of Sam's condition and like them talking about what Sam did to try to escape or signal to others to help-- aww we all loves Sam's courage and practicality and quick thinking amidst pain and hurts, don't we?

awww~! ok.. . i can't wait fro more but i will reread to anticipate. ;)

Thanks, as always, Periantari! Things are really speeding up now. Hobbiton is on the job! I'll try to keep feeding you chapters so you won't have to go after your toes. This really puts the pressure on! Cheers.

*claps with delight*

I love Barrel! He's so very hobbity! Just the right person to come along and help right now, with his hobbitsense and his clear idea of what needs to be done and how. And I am delighted that he pointed out Sam's attempts to rescue himself or be rescued, so that Frodo knows about them without Sam having to recover enough to say something.

This is wonderful. I can go get some sleep now.

Yay! I hope you have a sweet sleep. Sammie is getting one step closer to that bed and hot soup. But a little more rescuing has to occur.

I like happy hobbits. Barrel is fun to have around. I'm so glad you like him!

More rescuing is fine. I am wallowing happily in the details!

Ain't that the truth! Not broken limbs, not vile Orcs, not evil spiders, none will break our Sam.

*sigh* Our poor dear Sam!!

I think he should climb up the rope by himself, just to show his character... Maybe not. *I'd hug Sam, but Frodo is giving me the Evil Eye and won't let me near him*

Oh, man! My heart is STILL all wrenching for Frodo, who is feeling so guilty! Actually all of them are feeling so damn guilty for going about their lives while he was trapped and dying of thirst and pain. But yay -- rescue is here!

Yes, I can foresee a great many talks needing to occur for all these people to work out their guilt. And dear Sam, hovering on the brink... *sob!*

Oh, mariole, you are the master of "delayed delight". It's wonderful that help for Sam is finally at hand, but he's still down in that hole and unconscious! I'm with Frodo; I want Barrel and Griff to hurry up and get Sam to safety!

More, please? Hopefully, with Frodo nursing Sam back to health... *oh, I'm just shameless.*

There will be nursing. There will be warm cloths and nourishing soups. But we have to get out of the gritty dirt first. I'm not sure I'm through torturing Sam's poor family, so poor Sam will have to languish just a little bit longer.

And "delayed delight" is much better than "dragged out." Thank you for your kindness! *smooch*

Oh, well then, if May and Daisy are to be tortured... >:D
