Oh dear, oh dear. But I am very proud of Sam for not lying around feeling sorry for himself but plunging in and doing whatever he could. He really just got to it as soon as he figured he was on his own. Good for you, Sam. But this is not going to be easy, no indeed, Sam. It's a Mariole fic, my lad. Grit your teeth; sorry, you are in for it.

And yes I agree with the others. It's good to see Sam at the center of a story for a change (although he might disagree at this point).

I'm getting those update vibes! They're so successful, they're interfering with my regular work. Well done!

*puts lead walls around Gamgee house to block telepathic suggestions*

I'm afraid dear Sam is truly in it. Sorry, Sam, that's what happens when you star in a Mariole fic. *gives him a sportsmanlike nudge on the shoulder--oops, the other shoulder!*

Now that's mean! Oh, Sam. *trembles, teary-eyed*

*turns around with evil grin* hehehehehe

So he never went to the Bag End tool shed where Sam kept his tools. Had he done so, he might have noticed Sam’s pack, trussed and ready, lying in a corner. He might have realized that the reason Marigold failed to find Sam’s pack in his room was because he’d brought it here, to the Bag End shed. And that surely would have started him wondering.
awww no! :( Gaffer--why so careless.
and poor Sam..... :(
i understand you about more hobbit torture...
oh no..
mayhap Frodo comes back early from his trip? or notices something amiss

awww Sam~ i'm going after Sam myself. :P i'll find him and rescue him and heal all his hurts...

::is seriously fretting now::

I'm afraid the fic will get darker before it gets light. Brew yourself some soothing tea. This may take a while. Cheers.

Also, i must also commend you on teh fact that Sam *tried* to get himself out too--i would think of doing that as well but then it's very canonical because Sam has always been hopeful and strong and determined and won't just back down to just lie there.

Also--question: (hehe i'm more coherent now)
Is this pre or post-Quest?

Pre-Quest. We'll pretend Frodo is 34 and Sam is 22.

Escape is canonical as well as practical-- but that's Sam! Cheers.

I found this story today and I'm so glad that I did. Although I love Sam, it's rather a wicked thrill to see him in such a dire situation. He is being very brave and resourceful, but I wonder how much longer he is going to last in that hole. It hurts to think of him having to spend another night there in pain, thirsty, shivering, and waiting long hours for the dawn. I eagerly await more.

Thank you, Althea Lady! I'm glad you found me. :)

Poor Sam has a bit more to endure, I'm afraid. It's all just training exercises for Mordor, to toughen him up. But Sam is "tough as old tree roots," as he and everyone else will see. Thanks for reading!

Eeeeee!! I'm catching up on some reading, and I haven't read all of this yet, but I've scanned through it and can't wait! There's far too little Sam H/C out there; it all seems to always be Frodo getting the care. Equal time for Sam! ;-)

*goes off to read thoroughly*

Thank you, Oxer! That's right, equal time for Sam! Although he might not be so keen on it, since he has to go through all the "hurt" beforehand. :)
