When the going gets rough...

We had reached the end of the Middle-earth improvements. Emyn Muil was just as it had been during Frodo's original journey: forbidding, rocky, and wreathed in mysterious smokes.

If just the descriptions are this fun, what would taking the trip with you be like? I wish I could have gone!

That would have been hilarious! I mean, even more hilarious. We did laugh our way through the country. If you thought I was wild climbing the pillar outside of the Hobbit Café, well, you ain't seen nothing yet!

Did you hear that the Hobbit Cafe got a notice from the Tolkien estate to stop using the name? :(

But... but... but... it's a tribute of love.

Oh, Christopher. I admire your dedication, but we need all the Middle-earth around here we can get!

Gorgeous pictures! (Is that just my imagination, or did Frodo sound a tiny bit pissed off?)

Thanks, Mona. I think Frodo is not entirely happy about retracing his footsteps. The idea sounded all right in the Shire, but the reality I think is starting to wear on him. Poor buddy! *gives him a foot rub*

You have both been following the original quest pretty faithfully. Ewww! the dead marshes. Yucky indeed. I shudder to think of the horrors you are about to encounter, (((spiderssses)))
Would have loved to take the trek but probabely would have stayed in the shire like a proper Hobbit. LOL

Grean! It's great to see you. Thanks for dropping in. :)

Surely there would not be any spiders ahead of us. Would I do that to poor Frodo? *evil laughter*

Thanks so much for reading, and dropping me a line. Cheers!

Oh gosh, it's so awesome to see that those places look exactly like they did in the films!! Erm, except the marshes, of course. Ick!

Yeah, I couldn't find the parking lot where they filmed it, so I had to go to a real swamp! The odors make it even more interesting. Poor Frodoski, to have to endure it all twice!
