can I leave this hellhole yet?

It has been a long time since I've posted, I know.  I just haven't had the itch to type about anything really even though a lot has happened in the past half year or however long it's been.  Now I have the itch to type about something, and breaking from tradition, I'm going to go straight into it rather than type a long catch up post and forgot ( Read more... )

Do you think store management is a good thing for you? If it is, I know that it would cost even MORE money, but possibly a college degree in management would be a good thing. It may relieve some stress for you because you'll be prepared to handle situations that seem to stress yourself out, and you'd be in a higher payroll bracket because you have the educational experience that others may not. And considering expenses that will be coming up in your life (marriage, possibly a child, a new place), it might be best to keep management. If you can move up in EB, all the better to you! I know it's a tough field, but it's completely your decision to make, and I'll support whatever you choose, and I'm sure Kait will as well.

Money should definitely not be the primary factor to what you want to do, but it will be an important one. I'm sure Kait will be able to find something with her degree, and help you both out as much as possible.

I think it would be more of what industry management would work well for me. Take the two I'm in right now. The fast food industry, especially Taco Bell, isn't excatly a good market to be in. Standards are getting tighter, customers are rude and ungrateful, and we're always a big target to the media and customers, and there just doesn't seem to be any redeeming quality working for them, as I have no vested interest in the product I sell, and have a diffucult time dealing with having to fully cater to the customers every need regardless on if something was the fault of the store or not. Whereas in the gaming industry, I love working with the products I sell, can easily get excited about what I do, get my customers excited as well, and the customers are generally better to deal with, and it's not really a target. I would like to get a college degree regardless of what it is, since having a degree of any sorts looks good, but maybe management would be a good one for me to get pending if I can get a job in an industry I can enjoy ( ... )

I think your schooling will also have some dependency with what credits you have taken. Yes there's management, there's also electronic arts, information technology, cognitive science, possibly something else in the area you'd want. Obviously something to think about for your life. Management is always good, and an MBA is a terrific tool.

I know whatever you pick that I'd support you, and I know your Kait Monster would support you as well.

Yep, my mom got her MBA and is doing quite well for herself.

I think he would be an excellent manager of any kind (he's already an awesome AM). But it would be even better if he was a gaming store manager, cause he'd be happy. ^^ And of course I'll give him my support. XD

*hugs and kisses for Freckles*
