I like the feeling in this. It's bittersweet. Your writing in the few poems I have read seems to have a soft, sad quality to it. Very gentle, and somewhat aching. I love the lines "your hands together in your lap, comforting one another," as well as the last 6 lines. Some of your line breaks seemed choppy to me upon first reading it, but if read as a story it flows well. I like it.

Yeah, I have this thing with breaking the lines...it often disturbs the flow, but I kinda like it like that, i dunno...lolz
