So the internet - or at least the geekier portions of it - has been happily buzzing over the rumours-now-confirmed that the exceedingly hot Paterson Joseph has been cast as the next Doctor Who, apparently solely to ensure that kellirose1313 and I have sufficient eye candy in our Doctor Who viewing. And as you've just noticed, the historical education ambit originally intended to govern the series could get a major boost as well with the story ideas you've just opened up for the scriptwriters.

This could be Fun.

I like it. He has the capacity and reach to play the Doctor. And as for the idea of the Doctor being white... to them, opinions are interesting to look at, and then nod, smile and move on. It's the polite thing to do when what you really want to say is... well never mind.

I've always thought that the Doctor's superpower was to get the random people who he runs into to automatically believe in his expertise, authority and inspiration, and thus let him do all sorts of weird things. If he continues to have this ability, then he'll be fine even if he lands in apartheid South Africa.
