I generally loathe shopping for clothes. I approach clothes shopping the way some people approach going to the dentist. (I approach going to the dentist the way some people approach going towards a nuclear bomb.) Which is why I usually shop alone for clothes ( Read more... )

I have similar shopping experiences. I have a long waist and because of the swordwork-crazy-wide shoulders and arms.

Yeah, what IS it like to be "average size"

What I find most annoying is the assumption that women shopping in the petite section would be tall.

I bow to your superior choice of bear items. :)

But does that really work against pirate bears?

No bears? B-b-b-b-but BEARS! Especially scurvy PIRATE BeARRRRRRRRRRS!!!!

As for pants, I feel your pain, I have the same problem only different. No real human being has a 25" inseam. Call me a mutant. But, yeah, having seen what looked in jeans to be not so great a butt turn out to be terminally cute when divested of them, I totally understand the whole butt-fit thing.

*sigh* I think I already ranted in here once about the male chauvanist pigs who make us real men look bad by FUBARing the whole womens' fashion industry...

The main problem for me is that after about 15 minutes of pants shopping, I feel short. Very short. I hate this.

I think because you're so slim, you don't _look_ short. How tall are you in relation to my 5'2-1/2"?

Shorter :(

I don't usually feel that short, although yes, I admit that I've put most of the pictures in my house at my eye level will can be disconcerting for the tall.

You forgot to add the parents crying because their brat wants a bear and the parent will pay $50 to shut the kid up.

*shifting eyes back and forth* *scuffling feet*

I, um, have some clothes from the Build-A-Bear shop. Or rather, my teddy bear does. I didn't buy a bear there, but I succumbed to the need to see Stitch clad in wee adorable clothes. Sigh.

I hate clothes shopping. And shoe shopping is, indeed, even worse. Bah.

:: suddenly remembers that she has not one, or two, but three Stitch stuffed animals that she could put in Build-A-Bear pirate costumes....oooh! ::

Shoe shopping eliminates all ounces of humanity from my soul. It's not pretty.
