Not pedantic, entirely correct. The post has been edited, and mea culpa.

Heh. Just came to this entry and you can guess my reaction. ;) Alas, I'm doomed to be perpetually behind the times. Skip=220 and counting.

I just picked up Restaurant at the End of the Universe on tape, and it is Read by Adams. If you are interested, I can loan it to you for your Miami car ride. I also have Hitchhiker's on tape. Just let me know.

Oooh, I would, except for one slight problem - the tape deck in my car eats tapes, so, probably not such a good idea.

Yes! I knew you had to include Elizabeth Peters. My personal favorite of hers is Devil-May-Care. I love the animal decriptions, although my favorite character is definately Vicki.

Devil-May-Care almost made it in the list -- I just decided that Summer of the Dragon made me laugh more.

I don't really think that this list has too many surprises, except perhaps for book ten. Most people already know number one and can guess at at least four of the other top ten, I think.

True. I did like all the food references. For me I guess the animals trump food , although I enjoy food just as much. I just can't get the vision of the dogs climbing the ladder in the middle of a scary scene out of my head. Even now I'm laughing just thinking about it.
