You might be interested to know (if you don't already) that Eloise McGraw cited Heyer as an influence on the character of Toby Bridlecull in The Forbidden Fountain of Oz.

:: nods :: You can see the influence in all of the McGraw books, actually -- the View Halloo scene has a touch of Heyer to it, and the opening and closing chapters of Rundelstone have a decided Heyer touch as well. I think this also helps explain why the McGraws were about the only ones interested in the nobility that popped up in the Emerald City (as opposed to Thompson's little royal families all over Oz).
