That isn't getting into the normal everyday stuff! Paperwork is needed but I still hate doing it.

And it is pretty much every time I get a Marine trained up toa level I am good with he (or she) gets sent off someone else so I have to train the next one *again*. It is annoying!

Can't get rid of paper work, it's rather needed, isn't it? The Marines record everything don't they?

And isn't that your job? To get them up to a level your happy with, and then have them move onto better things?

Yeeeees. But I get fond of the little idiots when they're here and then they go off and either get their fool selves killed or turn currupt and it hurts. And I've been trying for years to make their chances better on neither of those happening

Well you can't have it your way all the time. I know it's hard to let something you've grown fond of leave, but all you can really do is hope for their best. And I mean, really, what kind of person wouldn't want that from their mentor?

I'm sure you did a fine job working on them, Garp. Some of them just probably just were give too much temptation so they gave in; not remembering what you taught them. Or if they go and get killed, well at least they died fighting.

I know that! I do let them go with pride cause they're grown men and women of awesomeness. But I still miss them afterwards.

It doesn't get easier either. You'll think it would with practice but it doesn't.

I hate it when people mock Marines for falling in battle. I just. That is just not something I can forget or forgive very easily.

Of course you miss them, they're people after all. People have a tendency to get attached to people they have confidence in. I've done it more than I should have, but. It's in the past.

They're people, Garp. You can't get over the human instinct.

I'm not mocking anyone, I'm just saying. Pirates do the same thing, and trust me, I know.

I was talking about everyone not being able to get over people leaving. It doesn't matter how tough you are, you're going to miss someone sometime.

Alright. And it's the people who mock who don't understand what it means to be apart of a family.
