You liked Elementary a lot more than I did. They started to lose me when he perfectly predicted the soap opera dialogue and totally lost me when he predicted the ninth inning of a baseball game. The latter is flat out totally fucking impossible. There are things in baseball someone might be able to predict -- whether or not a batter will swing, if a pitcher will throw a curveball -- but the sequence of events? Not. Even. A. Little. Bit. Possible. They're just making him predict things 'cause, y'know, he's smart, and stuff.
Yeah, but see, neither the soap opera bit nor the baseball bit had anything to do with the main mystery plot, which means they were gratuitous comic relief bits, which means I ignored them the way I always ignore gratuitous comic relief bits in dramatic shows, because they're always stupid.
Makes TV watching a much more pleasant experience.
