Singer/songwriter Steve Forbert will be playing at Steel City Coffeehouse, right here in Phoenixville, tonight. I enjoyed reading this post (several days ago, with only enough time to read, not log my enjoyment!). What a fantastic memory! Having myself been a regular listener to Widener's and Penn's and Drexel's radio stations at that very time and having myself been a contest caller (I won a copy of the Wild Seeds' debut album from UPenn!), I can appreciate and cherish the "I'm fifteen!" perplexity that faced the college-aged dj in question.

I was thinking of you today, of course, as I remembered from this post that today is the anniversary of your dad's death, and my own dad also passed (in 1996) around this time. I don't, unfortunately, have any shared concert stories from my teen years with my dad, but I'm glad to be creating them and like things with my own sons, as I know you are with yours.

It is through sharing stories and creating new ones that we keep the past alive. Best wishes, friend.
