When we first moved to Phoenixville, we actually didn't know very much about the town, so we had no idea about the Blob either. But I think it's great that the town embraces it as part of Phoenixville history. Having the Colonial in town and functioning as a theater (I think there was a time when it was closed, but it is now run by a nonprofit organization) is a really great part of living in Phoenixville. It is a historic theater (Houdini allegedly played there) and, in addition to a consistently intereting variety of movies, concerts our held there now too. I've seen Johnny Winter, Nick Lowe and the Outlaws, as well as Jake, the virtuoso ukulele player whose last name I can never spell. His opening act was Sam and Ruby, a great young duo.
So, anyway, I like to spread the word about the Colonial because I really think it is a great thing for a town the size of Phoenixville to have.
