Worries of the last days

May 16, 2010 11:43

I have had weird dreams last night. About a future Greece where people didn’t use Greek anymore. About a river that became a sea with waves so high that they swallowed airplanes. Scary. I haven’t even seen 2012. But I am so worried about so many things it seems… A little while ago I heard about a movie called Confessions of an Economic Hit Man ( Read more... )

That was a very interesting post!

It was interesting to read about the situation in Greece. Here in Israel we don't hear much about things in your country....I had no idea that Greece is feeling threatened.

Every country has its problems, even the most "advanced" ones. I think, like you said, if you hadn't loved your country, you wouldn't be feeling sad.

I also read many things about political behind-the-scenes conspiracies, only in former USSR. There might be an option that some of them are true.

I think that most greeks are feeling insecure and threatened. And yes, some things must be true... It is so revolting... But I always say that some things are in our hands, especially when it comes to markets and capitalism. For example, I don't like McDonalds, and I don't go. Thankfully I have alternatives. But I like Starbucks for the clean atmosphere and I go. It's as simple as that.

I was talking about all this with my friends at Uni, and the words 'third-world country' came up. What I said was, Greece is the 'civilized', European version of a third-world country. There's a rant about the Euro and EU to be written here, but honestly just thinking more about these things makes me feel so, so tired these days.

We can’t have the military spending so much money for an (allow me to say) imaginary threat when there are so many real ones.
THANK YOU. More Greek people should understand that a) invasions and wars like that don't really happen anymore, at least not in our part of the world. We're in the EU and NATO and all kinds of unions for fuck's sake, do people really think there are absolutely no political games involved in things like war and that anyone can just go to arms like they could five hundred years ago? b) I don't think Turkey gives a damn about us, dudes, let's just get it over with?

Greece makes me so, so, so angry too and I do hate it. I despise... almost everything about it. Our politics, our economy ( ... )

ur river dream is scary. i hope that won't actually happen, but with the world these days, you never know D: i've never really cared much about politics, let alone international politics. but i do think having friends is more important than enemies, that way, you can save on military too isn't it? :D
