How can someone study the future based on a manga or anime series? 
The Japanese are launching an academic society devoted exactly at this purpose: fortell the future after studying the anime series "Gundam" 
There is only one thing I tell you: until humanity reaches the point of having colonies at other planets and mobile suits

well, compared to what technology was like 100 years ago, I'd say we've already gone a long way. But I agree - we need to go a lot farther still! At the moment, I'm waiting for holographic technology to start being mass-produced... :-P

oh yes, obviously - but y' know, the thing about the transporters is, it would take a LONG time to develop them enough to be safe for the public. we wouldn't want to end up like those little white mice that Zelenka was using as test subjects in that Atlantis episode now, would we?
