All is calm, All is bright...
The chilly winds blew a gentle breeze over the rooftops of the sleepy little town of Namimori where a tiny young figure huddled near the chimney of one of the said roofs. I-pin pulled her coat close to her as she looked out into the night sky and the small twinkling lights of the town. The silence reminded her of home, of China and the twinkling lights to here were stars that shone in the night sky. The stars that her master Fong had always talked about and loved.
It was calm and quiet and it seemed that the lights were slowly dying away, leaving actual stars and the moon to shine above her. I-pin figured that the night's merriment and were over and it was well beyond midnight of the 25th. It was Christmas. She smiled a sad little smile as she yawned. She should be going in before she catches a cold. She just wanted to see the stars brighter and wish her Master a Merry Christmas, whereever he was. She knew the stars would tell him. They always do.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child
Holy infant so tender and mild
She was about to enter the house again through the window from where she came when she found herself staring at a touching little scene between the Tenth Vongola boss and his mother. Tsuna had caught up to his mother who just finished up cleaning after the party. In his hand was the tiniest little package. I-pin knew what it was. It was the necklace that Tsuna-nii had scrimped and saved over for about a month just to buy it. She knew how hungry he would get at school but refused to buy anything because he needed the money to buy his mother a Christmas Present. When he finally did, he was so proud and kept it safe until today.
Tsuna had given Mama Sawada her present to which she teared up when she saw it. She hugged him and the two of them went into the sofa talking about things that only mothers and sons could understand. This made I-pin long for her own mother whom she never met. If she had one, then she'd do anything for her. Just like Tsuna-nii did. She wiped the lone tear that dropped from her eyes. No, I-pin cannot cry. Assassins like her cannot cry. But little girls could.
I-pin slipped in through the window and into the room where she slept silently and climbed into bed. She tried to be brave and stop the tears from falling from her eyes. She was sad. She missed Master Fong. She missed the mother she never knew. She even missed Lambo who was with the Bovino family for the holidays. It was in this silent night that the little chinese girl felt very alone as her lonely tears lulled her to sleep.
