Author's notes: The companion fic to Nervousness. This is Yoseob's side of the story.

I’m over racting There’s no reason to be nervous. Yang Yoseob thought to himself as he walked down one of Cube Entertainment’s hallways. I’ve been on stage before - tons of times. How is this time any different? Besides the fact that it’s out debut; it’s basically like another performance, only I’m the center of attention. Not part of the back up dancers.

Yoseob shook his head. He really needed to stop thinking about this. That was part of reason why he was out here in the first place, and not in the dressing room with Jyunhyung and Hyunseung. He didn’t want to be talking - let alone thinking - about their debut. When he does it makes him nervous, and worries him even more.

Finally reaching the room he was looking for, the small boy looked though the slightly ajar door. The room Yoseob had arrived at was Cube’s dance practice room. And in the practice room was none other than Yoon Doojoon. A fellow trainee, friend, and band mate of Yoseob’s - the other part of the reason why Yoseob wasn’t in the dressing room. He thought that talking to Doojoon would help him forget about his nerves, since he, out of everybody, seemed the most comfortable with the idea of debuting. So much so, that he almost seemed casual about it.

As Yoseob watched the older boy practice, Doojoon made a mistake and tripped. Yoseob couldn’t help but laugh at the comical sight of his band leader lying ungracefully on the floor.

It was then that Doojoon, who was picking himself up off the floor, realized he was being watched. He turned his attention to the door.

Yoseob let out a small gasp at being discovered. He thought about running, but if he did Doojoon would probably chase him down. Besides, didn’t he want to talk to Doojoon?

The older male smiled at him, “Hi Yoseob-ssi.”

“Hi Doojoon,” the smaller boy shyly greeted back.

Doojoon motioned for Yoseob to come over next to him. Yoseob looked around timidly before stepping into the room and made his way to Doojoon’s side.

“So what’s up?” Doojoon asked while wiping sweat off his forehead with his hand. “Why aren’t you in dressing room hanging out with the others?”

“It’s boooooring in the dressing room,” Yoseob complained exaggeratingly. “There’s nothing for me to do. Hyunseung is napping, Junhyung is on his laptop watching videos, and Dongwoon was complaining of being hungry, so he and Kikwang went off to go get some food.” It wasn’t a total lie, Dongwoon and Kikwang really did go out for food, but Junhyung and Hyunseung were actually talking about their debut. “I knew you were practicing so…I thought I’d look for you.”

Doojoon nodded, “Oh okay.”

“I’m not bothering you, am I?” Yoseob quickly asked; he didn’t want to talk to his friend if it was costing him his practice time.

“No, no, you’re fine. I think I’m done practicing for today anyway,”

Yoseob nodded.

I hope this works. Okay, so what should we start talking about first? If we don’t start talking I’ll keep thinking about that and then everybody will notice that I’m nervous and think I’m crazy for being nervous, making the whole purpose of talking to Doojoon go to waste. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea after all. I mean considering this is Doojoon I’m talking to…It’s not my fault he’s so good looking…

Doojoon suddenly speaks up. “So, you nervous about our debut?”

How the heck…!?

That question caught Yoseob totally off guard. It was as if Doojoon had read his mind. Freaky.

“N-No. Why would I be nervous?” he answered, trying to play it cool.

Why does everybody like talking about our debut?

“It’s not the first time we’ve been on stage. I mean, the only difference is that we’re singing too, not just dancing. So there’s nothing really to be nervous about.”

“Oh, so you’re not nervous?” Doojoon sounded surprised.

Am I really that easy to read? Do I look nervous too??

“Well, you might not be nervous, but,” he looked around as if he was about to tell a secret, “I am.”

Yoseob blinked. He definitely wasn’t expecting Doojoon to say that. In fact, Yoseob thought that would be the last thing Doojoon would ever say. “Y-you are?”

“Yeah, I am. To tell you the truth, I’m pretty scared.”

“Really?”

Doojoon chuckled lightly, “Yes, really. How many times do I need to tell you?”

Yoseob shrugged, “It’s just that I didn’t think you’d be nervous, since, you know, you’re the leader and all.”

That, and you act like it doesn’t bother you at all. How can you act so well?

“Well even an almighty leader like me gets nervous about preparing for our debut.” Doojoon smiled and playfully ruffled the younger’s hair.

Yoseob gave the elder a small smile, before he started to think.

If Doojoon can admit to being nervous, does that mean it’s alright to be nervous?

“So…if I’m nervous, that’s not a bad thing is it?”

“No, of course not,” Doojoon shook his head as he put an arm around Yoseob.

Yoseob felt his face heating up as he made contact with the older boy.

“It’s only natural for you to be nervous.” Doojoon continued. “I mean this is our debut we’re talking about; the day everybody will be watching us perform. The day people will finally see us as a band. See us as artists. Not trainees. It’s our chance to show the world that we not ‘just another boy band.’ And it’s intimidating. Heck, I’m getting scared just thinking about it.

It took the smaller boy a few minutes to soak all this information in.

Does that mean I was worried over nothing? ‘Cause Doojoon is nervous too. And I thought I was the only one. I knew that the debut was a big deal, but everyone else seemed like it didn’t bother them. That the debut was nothing to worry about, and I felt guilty for feeling scared. But if Doojoon’s nervous - I mean, he admitted it right? - then is it alright if I’m nervous?

“So…” Yoseob began, finally coming out of his thoughts, “it’s okay if I’m scared about our debut?”

“Yes, it’s very okay,” Doojoon smiled and pulled Yoseob closer.

Yoseob’s felt his heart speed up as the older male brought him into a hug. He was surprised, but it gave him a nice feeling. The smaller boy could feel his face blushing as he leaned his chin on Doojoon’s shoulder. He prayed that when the hug ended (something he wished wouldn’t happen) that his face didn’t look like a tomato.

“And don’t worry about it too much,” Doojoon continued without breaking up the hug, “we’re all here for you. Me, Junhyung, Hyunseung, Kikwang, and Dongwoon. We’ll support each other though everything, no matter how nervous or scared we are. We’ll get through it.”

In Doojoon’s comforting embrace, those words couldn’t have sounded any better to Yoseob. Sighing in relief and happiness, the younger boy closed his eyes; trying to make the moment last as long as possible.
