1. We got rid of Fiona. This saddens me. For those of you who don't know, Fiona is my cousin Christina's dog (cousin/roommate/adult child who lives with me). She wouldn't train, pay attention to, discipline, or otherwise care for this dog, and it was VERY badly behaved and driving me crazy. Fiona went to the pound (Christina's idea). I am never ( Read more... )

We had a dog that we had to do that to once. Similar circumstances. Mom's boyfriend at the time, got her this cuuuuuuuuute littly puppy-wuppy, that we were expected to play with, and luuuuuuv and huuuuuuug like he was our very own. Only, he didn't play with it, mom worked a 24on/48 off schedule, and was dealing with other problems at the time, and even as a puppy, he scared the shit out of me. Hence, he turned into a BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG Kujo-esque puppy, beat up on MY female dog that I'd had since I was a wee 3yr old, and who treated me like one of HER own, scared the SHIT out of Mom and I, (the boyfriend was gone by then), so, sadly we had to put "Kujo" to sleep. His real name was Kuma. He was an Akita. "Kujo" is more appropos.

P.S.--Gin and Nicotine, eh? Sounds like the diet for me! As for the "other shoe" falling in a relationship, I can SOOOO relate to this. It's been 6yrs this past 4th of July, and I'm STILL waiting for the "other shoe" to drop. Only difference is, now, I've chilled out on trying to MAKE IT FALL! We should do coffee/lunch sometime. Sounds as if we might have a lot in common. Plus, I still think I know you from the Poetry Scene.

I am so proud of you! That's awesome beyond all reason. Your lungs will be so happy! We'll start training for Race for the Cure when I get home. I have new recipes for you as well, involving beans. Poor people (ie, me) eat a lot of beans. And on the bright side--since you've stopped smoking, if I get a job, whenever Christina moves on, maybe we can be roomies! Wheee!

I am sorry about your doggy. Maybe try Pets for People next time? Maybe take Christina to the pound.

*heart* miss you loads and loads. But I'll be home in two weeks. Whee! I will require cake, burritos, bagels, and lots of conversation. In English. Those who speak german to me will be immediately kicked in the shins, and then possibly defenestrated.
