[Blank] Interpretation

So I'm watching the first episode of the second hour of "Match Game." The question is "The private said, 'Even in the steam bath you can tell that guy is a general. He has four stars [blank]ed on his chest." Gene then asked Richard, "Does that take you back to Hogan's Heroes?" He didn't have negative feelings towards the show but he wanted to move past it and didn't want to be associated with Hogan's Heroes and wouldn't really participate in anything related to the show for years (but he did that interview on the new box set so that has changed it was very nice of him to do because he is retired).

He was always polite about Hogan's Heroes and would sometimes still do the Newkirk voice (he did it on Match Game and Feud) so it's not like he refused to have anything to do with the show or that it was a bad experience for him it's just Richard was a person that looked forward not backwards & he was successful for this more so than any of the other Hogan's Heroes alum except maybe Ivan Dixon who had success behind the cameras.

I guess it is sort of like Paul with Wings except the major difference is Richard was actually more successful after Hogan's. Wings was successful but never in the way the Beatles were.

Sorry to type up a long wall of text to you. I think sometimes I am just too passionate when it comes to Richard. :)

Although Clary & Lebeau are awesome too.
