Jacarandas are beautiful until you have to clean up after them. And don't ever park under one! The droppings will destroy the paint on your car. That said, I love them anyway.

Oh, I completely agree! They make a huge mess, and the purple flowers on the ground do not stay nice for long!

Right around the corner from Denise and Larry is a house that has SIX of them on their corner lot as street trees.

They're so pretty, but... when the blooms fall on the sidewalks and street, those purple blossoms turn into black goo.

BLEAH.

Makes me almost miss the old place in Pasadena. Our front yard and about every other yard has these trees in them. I agree on the parking under them comment. We had both the jacaranda and an olive tree in our front yard. Our cars were doomed.
