Shouldn't he have already swam through a goddamn sea of willing women before he finally end up in the friendly waters of Lake Lady Sky Pirate?

Penelo, this is Larsa. He probably was working too hard to even think of having sex. (I was going to suggest that maybe he was keeping himself for Penelo in some "the purity of love" belief, but he doesn't seem to have any qualms about Penelo being more experienced than him. ...or maybe he didn't figure that out and just thinks she's more "talented". *snerk*)

I loved best how he so formally apologizes and asks for another chance. Oh, Larsa. ♥

Heee, I'm glad you liked! It wouldn't have been a good present if the recipient didn't enjoy it. ;) And Mith was, as always, a big help.

And oh Larsa. Dear, sweet, extremely-inexperienced-with-women Larsa. The truth is, he really was "saving himself" for Penelo! Part of it was just because I thought it'd be funny to see a reversal of the whole men-can-have-sexual-experience-but-god-forbid-women-do-the-same thing that's still a staple of romance novels... but part of it was due to the ages at which they met.

Penelo lost her virginity before she even met Larsa (Reks/Penelo is my OTP of sweet but utter doom) and it took her a few years (say, when Larsa hit around 16) to start thinking of him as a potential sexual partner. So she's already had two or three relationships under her belt by the time this takes place. This, of course, didn't make Larsa happy but eh-- exactly what could he do about it? ;)

Larsa on the other hand... well, he was clearly too young to have sexual relationship when he met Penelo and crushing on her far too

That does make a lot of sense. I don't really get the Reks/Penelo thing, but I can see Penelo having a few other partners before Larsa gets old enough for anything to happen. XD

(I kind of like the reversal of experienced guy/naive woman too...which is why I like Johnny/Shania and Larsa/Penelo.)

Reks and Larsa... well, I've written them as a drabble #1 in this set and I should really hunker down and write that multi-parter I've been meaning to for them. I see theirs as a relationship that was borne more from desperation than anything else right before Reks went off to battle and got himself all but killed at Nalbina fortress. Theirs was necessarily a tragic affair that probably lasted only a short time but... damn it, it makes sense in my head. XD

And yay to experienced ladies hooking up with naive men! I just love the gender reversal and comic possibilities of ships like that, I really do. ;)

Ooh, I loved this! <3 It's so cute and endearing because it's realistic. It can be very awkward when a guy doesn't know what exactly he's doing (....not that I know from experience...nope)and you illustrated that well. I think it also works better with that pairing having Larsa be unsure of himself and inexperienced rather than blowing her mind (in a good way) the first time because it fits him better. I can't wait to see the other parts to this!! XD

I am terribly happy you loved this. ;) And yeah, realistic is precisely what I was going for. I mean, there are so many fics out there where a couple's first time goes... well, to put it frankly, goes far smoother than is quite believable, especially when one or both of the couple are virgins. And an 18 year old male virgin? Much less likely to blow his partner's mind than his own... erm. Okay, you fill in that blank. XD

But trust me-- Larsa didn't lie when he said he was a fast learner. And hopefully the next couple of parts will show why. ::whistles and walks off::

Penelo made her first mistake when she expected the 18 year old virgin who'd been mooning over her since the onset of puberty to last beyond, like, the initial 30 seconds of entry. XD And believe me, our favorite boy emperor shall pack some surprises up his sleeves yet...

And I support Larsa and Penelo blushing in any and every context! And he so would be the sort to do so, yes? ;)

Heee, I thought you might! And really, this fic is all about build-up and then a rather abrupt let-down right afterwards. Poor Penelo-- at least Larsa really is a quick learner.

And my question now is... was your Larsa from Swansong just as inept during his first tumble with Penelo? And how did he make it up to her afterwards. ;)

Amazingly wonderful, darling. I love the great insight to Penelo's mind through all of this, and Larsa's rather...disappointing performance and adorably awkward apology. It's so...him. ^_^

Heeeee, I'm glad you liked it! Penelo came in with rather too high a hope of a performance from Larsa here, I'm afraid, but then-- well, how was she to know he would be so inexperienced? Usually he seems decades older than his physical afge. XD And Larsa will throw both an apology and a hearty attempt at ammends at her during the next part. More to come later this week, I promise!
