Obviously, the smart thing to do when you’re deadly frustrated with one series is to immediately start another. ;)

This is a lead-in and a half. This isn't like baiting a hook; it's like poisoning the whole river and netting everything that floats to the top.

In other words: yes. More. :D

What gets me is the 'doom before dishonour'. Death before dishonour is supposedly the standard way of saying it, so then I get all intrigued at the word doom. Because doom is such a heavy word - doom practically IS dishonour, beacuse it's not just death - it's the worst death ever with nothing left at all no hope no thanks no farewells and only lots and lots of dread...and interesting that she then wakes up, not 'dishonoured', but certainly 'doomed,' with potentially only more dishonour to have to foil.

Well, well, well. Three holes in the ground. And Drace is stuck in one of them.

(Also: strains of 'Kill Bill.' Funny if Drace finds herself dressed as other than herself.)

Oh, in Archades (as Drace is going to slooowly learn), death is for the lucky. It's when you can't die-- when you're not allowed to die-- that the real sadism comes crawling out of the posh surroundings that it's previously been hidden within.

And I totally didn't get the Kill Bill similarities before but... Drace as the Bride? My god, that would totally work, wouldn't it? ;)

(I have no idea why but lately, I've been on a binge of torturing my poor leading ladies. God knows Penelo's been tortured plenty in Knots so far... and Drace isn't going to fare much better-- and may encounter significantly worse-- in this fic. Jebus, I turned into a literary sadist somewhere alone the line, though I'm not quite sure why or how...)

That's ok. At least you have leading ladies! That's much better than just prioritising men all the time.

Also; all of Penelo's torture is self-induced, based in her moral grounding. Therefore it's not sadism, it's consistant. ;)

Oh, I love me my leading ladies. I honestly do adore female characters to bits and pieces because, for whatever reason, I guess I see them as having to overcome obstacles that I can more easily sympathize with.

And you have to admit... at least some of the Penelo torture is from the outside. ;) Her conscience isn't helping the matter but the whole 12-year-old-child-groom thing? That's certainly not something she has much control over, poor thing.

Hopefully, either this weekend or the next, I'll post another chapter of this madness up. I'm glad you're enjoying it so far. XD

And Drace as the Bride? Vayne as Bill? The other judges as the various assassins? I'm suddenly picturing Bergan wearing Go-Go's skirt and am silently trying not to die of laughter here!

I will do my best, I promise! I'm really looking forward to exploring Archades more so... hopefully, a new chapter will be coming either this weekend or the next. We'll see, I guess.

And Fandom Secrets is almost ridiculously addictive, oh yes!

This weekend or the weekend after, I hope to post something new for this. I'm really excited about fleshing Drace out some more so... we'll see, I guess. ;)
