Oct 30, 2007 02:40

Originally , I was planning to release this exactly on Halloween but… well. This week is going to be Hell Week for me in terms of school so I thought it’d be best to just finish it up and post this right now. And I have to say… this is one of those fics. Those fics you pour your heart and soul into, only to look at funny afterwards and wonder if it ( Read more... )

Well I thought I knew what was going on and then I reached the end and...they were lovers?! o.O; Of the psychotic nature, but...

I think I'll have to reread this later. Someone else will beat me to the summary, though, I bet. ;)

Er... whether Vayne and Penelo were "lovers" is... up to interpretation. Physically, maybe, that's true but I think they might both quibble with the emotionally bit. ::cough::

And in case you wanted to know what really went down in the fic... here are the annotations to Imprint.

I am not sure I totally understand what exactly happened in this fic. Annotations and the other POV would be very welcome.

I don't blame you for not quite understanding what went on. In retrospect, the plot WAS a little horribly convoluted!

Oh, Jesus God. I think I know what was going on, but I'm not completely sure. Either way, seems very Satoshi Kon-esque to me. I'll get back to you this afternoon with that summary.

Annotations would be very much appreciated, as would the lady's side of the story.

Mkay, here's my stab at things:

-Vayne survived the Bahamut, but not as a body. Ashe and the others didn't. In essence, he's doing a time-share with Larsa.
-Penelo is aware of this. And she was fighting it at first. But they're using Venat to subdue her. The Magisters may or may not be aware of the situation.
-She's carrying a child. It's not Larsa's, even though he was the one to do it with her -- it's Vayne's, because of the timeshare thing I mentioned before. Penelo is aware of this. And she intends to kill Larsa/Vayne, and then herself and the child. But she fails, obviously.

Am I kind of sort of semi on target?

And, you brilliant thing, you-- you probably don't even need to read the annotations, since you're right on target! You win a ficlet for your efforts. What would you like me to write for you here? ;)

Hmm...

Anything involving the Solidors and/or Archadian politics. Any details aside from that, I leave it to the author. :P

You do get that riveted and rapt feeling right, but as for cogent action I'd like annotations. Still, though, shivery.

It's not hard to do shivery with Vayne. Really, he just invites the feeling. Whether anyone can do warm and fuzzy with Vayne though-- that's the question we should be asking here. ;)

Holy shit, hon! That was frickin' amazing. I'm still half confused, so I'll see what someone else posts, and I'd love to see the annotations for it. It's one of my favorite things, to see the author's rationale for how things went. ^_^

Let's see...apparently, Penelo was the only one of the group to survive Bahamut, and Larsa took her home at one point and married her, but then died. Vayne survived, Penelo tried several times to kill herself, and is pregnant with Larsa's child. Umm...she tries to kill Vayne but fails, and Larsa's being reincarnated? Not sure about that last bit, but man, it was depressing and awesome. You win. <3

Confusion seems the watchword of the day with this fic... but since this is taking place within the confines of a very mad mind, that makes all too much sense to me!

And you have about... let's see... 80% of the events right on with your summary! You were just a bit wrong about Larsa taking her home first and then marrying her. The order of events was wrong there. ;)

Not bad, really. Especially since I'm not good with mysteries like this. ^_^ And believe me, I'll be on that soon!

Nonsense! You are much better with mysteries than you give yourself credit for. ;)
