"Dragobete" - The Romanian version of Valentine's Day

Dragobete is a traditional Romanian holiday, celebrated on February 24. It is known as a day for lovers, rather like Valentine's Day.

Very interesting, Maria.
We Bulgarians don't seem to have a dedicated day for Love. I guess one can jokingly say that every day needs to be a celebration of love. :)

Paloma, I am very glad to "see" you again.
Well, love should have about 365 days/year to be celebrated :), but a special day is not a problem, isn't it?
"Dragobete" is a pre-christian base holiday and it is celebrated especially in Southern Romania. As the Bulgarian border is close there, maybe you have also some pre-christian rituals related to this "day of love".
