Sometimes I have this dream where I'm carrying a cross. Like the one Jesus carried when he walked to give his life for us. It's really heavy and my shoulders ache, but I keep pressing on because I know I have to. There are people I don't know around me, watching me, but then they all fade away and I'm alone with my cross. I could stop walking, but

I'd give anything to keep you safe - safe from dreams, safe from real life, safe from any of it. I wish I had an easy answer, like sneaking into your room when you have bad dreams, but I don't want to get you in trouble. I'll tell you what, how about this? Okay, Jesse. Thank you so much. It sucks to wake up from something like that wanting to be held and having no one beside me.

I wish you could sneak into my room, too. Too bad that could never work. But I like the idea of having something of yours. :) That might help. And I'll text you the next time I have the dream.

I know it must, sweetheart - I'd give anything to be there beside you when you wake up feeling that way. I feel so helpless knowing you're going through that and that I can't help you.

Yeah, I think that would just get us both in trouble. I'll definitely get you something of mine to snuggle up with then. And definitely - text me, call me, whatever you want. I'll do anything I can to make you feel better.

I don't like the way you're sounding here. You sound worried and uncertain. Something is clearly bothering you and while I won't make you tell me unless you want to, I want to suggest that you tell someone.
