Some bird advice

Jul 12, 2006 12:21

This morning we awoke to treacherous storms. One thing about working with birds, is that you cannot work in the rain. The birds aren't active, you can't flush them from their nests because then their eggs or babies will get cold and wet, and it seems like about 90% of the equipment we use isn't waterproof. So when it rains, we get to sleep in past ( Read more... )

I bet regis was especially adorable during this bird segment. Probalby jumping out of his chair and screeching in that high pitched exposatory way of his. Kelly is such a great person, how she cares for everything, and is really a down to earth woman whos love for her family and sets a great example for the average working mom who looks forward to the pairs morning banter. And why shouldnt she watch her well earned regis and kelly, and maybe some stories around 11am. She busts her hump keeping the family together and all she asks is some regis and kelly, some stories, then maybe some judge (insert new judge name here), then maybe wash the dishes and finish just in time for OPRAH!!!!!!

I would first imobolize its neck as you can do more dammage than good if you handle the bird before you do that. Then i would sedate it with some crushed up tylenol3. I would then monitor its vitals as i rushed it to the local vet, possibly using a defibulator a few times on the way just in case.

so a couple hours after Live with Regis and Kelly, another one of my favourite shows, Access Hollywood, was on. Leading up to the final segment of the day, they said something about "Next, why Regis and Kelly's new 'cohost' had a VERY expensive salary" blah blah blah, etc., etc., etc.. I was intrigued. Ecstatic that I would learn more about the situation. Excited at the possibility that Kelly Ripa had been fined for the 3-4 birds per summer that she ripped from their parents to feed them with soggy bread that would bloat their stomachs and deprive them of protein. So I stayed tuned. I did not turn the channel at the break. But, unfortunately, it was one of those syndicated shows, that airs on one network, is picked up by another, and you see half of the adds from one, and the other adds from another. So half of the segment was cut off by adds, and all I saw was video fotage of kelly with the robin. I REALLY want to know what went down. I've tried googling it, but nothing shows up. If anyone anywhere could enlighten me, I would really ( ... )

Maybe this was a move by the producers to create controversy on the show and up ratings. The producers killed the robin margaret, and they are coming for you next!

I leave them on the ground. The dog is trained to chase cats, not birds, so we have several acres of relatively safe bird-rearing habitat. I have on occasion interfered with other species however, such as chasing/carrying fawns out of the hayfield before the mower mangled them. What are your thoughts about feeding birds? Seems like a nice thing to do, but I'm concerned about concentrating the birds, especially in winter, so that the hawks know where to come for a meal. Adam's dad.

I didn't know so much about the whole bird thing I must admit but what I would have done would be the following: "Awwww cute, look at the little guy, awww, who's a cute little guy? You are, yes you are! Okay, hop along little buddy. Oh, oh, you want some bread with milk? No, bad bird, NO! That's my bread with milk. Bye bye little guy!" Then I would kiss it's cute little head and walk off.

I hate the damn "didle do do didle do do didle do do dooo" cell ring. Friggin Chinese people seem to love it. Buh bye!
