saturday morning phone calls?

Okay, so I would like to know your opinion on how early it is acceptable to phone someone (in particular, strangers) on a Saturday. The day after Friday night. So I say during the work week, 9am is perfectly acceptable. I would even be okay with 8 or 8:30, because I guess there are some businesses out there that actually open that early. What about ( Read more... )

I read this to warren, cray bomb, mel and greg here is what we think.

Greg: Too early
Mel: Not too early, but hes a dumb ass
CrayBomb: Too early for someone you dont know
Warren: Warren says expect people to call
Me: You are a lunatic, and i will be placing a restraining order in andrews favor. I think you were cranky.

So i like a combination of the first three answers: it is too early for someone you don't know to call, especially if they are a dumbass. I know that if I post an add, I should expect people to call (although when making phone calls myself I would personally stick to normal business hours unless otherwise stated in the add)... the thing is though, even if I had written in the add "please no phone calls before 10am on Saturdays" Andrew would have probably still called me, becuase I'm under the impression that he's not actually able to read. As far as your comment goes: you really have no say in the matter, as you seem to have a great affinity for poorly timed phonecalls.

I believe it wasn't too early. If you get drunk or stay up late...that's your decision and shouldn't be crankified unto someone else. If he called at 7...then you can kick his ass. If he was a she and kept calling your number over and over off and on for weeks asking for Hashimoto-san and the first few times you were all polite and speaking Japanese telling them they had the wrong number and even asking your supervisor how to tell someone that in Japanese then finally after the 20th or more time they have called asking for Hashimoto-san you just start saying a very pissed offish no and then hang up on them mid sentence only to have them call back again in 1 minute just to check if he lives there now...you could be pissed off.

In closing:
9:30 is not early.
The guy is a tard.
I like how you called him back but the message was lame. You should have been more vicious for the *69 money you have to pay.
Your message sounds a bit gay stalker-ish.
He's a dork for calling you back and threatening you.

haha, okay. So, I actually agree that 9:30am on Saturday isn't too early... but I would never phone someone that early. I think my harsh opinion of the whole situation was largely contributed to by the fact that I wrote that LJ about 10 minutes after I had been woken up, and was still quite bitter. I also think that the reason some people sleep in on weekends isn't cause they got drunk or stayed up late, it's because they had an incredibly stressful, exhausting workweek, and they need those few extra hours they get each saturday morning to rejuvinate the best they can.
On another note, what do you think I should have said in my message that would make me less gay stalker-ish? And if 9:30 am isn't too early, but 7am is, where is the cut off? What is the earliest you should be phoning people on weekends?

The cut off time...this is a tough question. I really don't know and really don't care. If people call me in the morning I answer it and then usually go right back to bed. Sometimes I enjoy the fact that I am awake at such an hour and go about my day! I don't suffer from your condition, you see.

I like the power of positive thinking. Your message should have been more along the lines of, "Hi, next time you call asking redundant questions about an apartment I hope your cock rots off and your grandma eats it." Well, maybe that sounds more gay stalker. I just feel the calling back may have been a waste of precious time...it must have been satisfying at the time though. That's all that matters.

i would not have appreciated a 9:30 am call. what kind of people think you should be up? Krazy ppl, that is who.

but then again this could be a biased opinion from someone who stays up till 1 am then is tired all day. um no. it isn't. only f#ckers call that early.

unless it is me, then it is an important message.

later yo
