A stereo-pair from Pilot Mountain

Okay, so I've posted a panorama from Pilot Mountain, so here's a stereo-pair to go with it. From a purely technical perspective, it's definitely flawed. That is an incredible stereo-pair-- there's so much in the picture to look back and forth at once you've fused the stereo image! I don't like stereo pairs that mostly are of one big thing standing out from a background, this is much more interesting.

Wow, thanks -- I'm glad you liked it! There are a lot of well-known "rules" of composition for ordinary photography (e. g. the Rule of Thirds, the preference for diagonals, etc.), and I've often felt like there ought to be "rules" for stereo-pairs, too -- in the absence of such rules, however, I just fiddle around, and sometimes it works out well.

I think one reason this particular pair worked as well as it did (setting the overexposure aside), is that the textures, particularly that of the rock-worked stone, are bold enough to "pop-out" in 3D (this in addition to the "macro-objects" in both fore- and background).
