I mean, he put it out there: Vote for this amendment and ban repeats of what has happened (women getting raped and corporations covering it up) or voting "no" to protect a corporation. The thing is that current law creates a situation where you can rape without punishment, and

Senator Burr,
I am writing to ask the reasoning behind your vote (nay) on Senator Franken's Amendment 2588 on HR3326 (the DoD Appropriations Act of 2010). The amendment passed without your vote, but I am wondering why you still voted against it. I think the goal of the amendment, ensuring that the employees of defense contractors are given full access to the courts and due process, and can not be required to sign away their rights as a condition of employment, is a noble one.
Sexual assault, sexual battery (aka rape), and sex based discrimination seem to still be an issue. I think it's important that the US Government do everything in it's power to stop such abuse. I also think it's very important for agents working for the United States abroad conduct themselves in a humane, legal, ethical, and professional manner, as to put our best face forward to the world.
Sincerely,
Nicholas Soucy

Halliburton, Blackwater, and KBR (a Halliburton subsidiary) ect have run roughshod for a long time now. They have essentially been a law unto themselves.
I used to fuel military vessels, I have inside knowledge about how things are 'done'. Women in that work place are only as safe as the crew they ride with are willing to make them. I had a man who repeatedly harassed me until I arranged for him to have a series of accidents. I rewired the ground lines on electrical pedestals and then set his work tickets up so he would have to work on them. He was sloppy and would get a nice shock every time. Water+electricity=bad. The crew chief finally told him to lay off before an 'accident' got him killed.
They all knew why he kept having accidents......The guy got arrested for a sex offense, and then, and only then, was he fired. He is now a registered sex offender.
