New microwave trick - popcorn in a mason jar. Put plain popcorn in a mason jar, and put it in the microwave for 2.5 minutes or so. Watch it very closely, just like the paper bag stuff, but it isn't QUITE as likely to burn

I may try it -- I always think there is too much salt and butter on microwaved popcorn and have been doing the old Alton Brown paperbag trick... however that one sounds nifty too. I'm jst out of popcorn :(
It works fine, even better than the paper bag, as you get to watch it and it doesn't burn as quickly. I started with Alton's trick, minus the oil. The oil is there just for the taste. You can add it if you like.
For cinnamon you'd want some intermediary to make it stick to the popped corn. Cinnamon is extremely anti-sticky (can't think of the correct word right now).
Sugar might do, since it melts during this process.
hrm... I tried it in a "regular" mason jar, but I'm wondering if it's actually a "wide mouth" jar. Next time will try in spaghetti jar, as I ended up with a bunch of popcorn and unpopped kernals loose in the microwave. Glad that was on my list of things to clean today. :)

I honestly can't tell since I'm weird and don't like popcorn.
