In General


• Rin finds most people boring and uninteresting. Most of the time, if she's commenting-- It's just because she has nothing better to do at the moment, not out of any real interest.
• Rin dresses the way she does partially as rebellion against her childhood-- she was always wearing "cute" clothes when she was a little girl.
• Rin makes a good deal of the jewelry she wears herself.
• Rin has a slight hair fetish. One of Rin's few vanities about herself is her hair. She loves the way it feels when she runs her hands through it. She doesn't like the idea of anyone else touching it, though. Haru is a notable exception to the no-touching rule. When he does it, she thinks it feels blissfully good.
• Rin loves to draw, but the thought of anyone looking at her drawings embarrasses her horribly. Her favourite thing to draw is people, especially the people she likes, but she also has a habit of drawing abstract designs when she's in a contemplative mood.
• Rin has no idea what she wants to do with her life once she graduates high school.
• Rin likes to sing along to the music on her computer when she thinks no one is around to hear her. She'd be horribly embarrassed if she thought anyone could hear her. She doesn't thinks she's any good as a singer.
• Rin doesn't like to stay still. She loves to dance, to run, to move. Which isn't to say that she gestures a lot when she's talking--she doesn't--and she's perfectly capable of staying in one place for as long as she needs to. But she prefers freedom of movement.
• Rin's favourite types of books are science fiction and historical fiction. She likes to pick a quiet corner of the library to just sit and read, and does this at least once a week.
• Rin has no idea what she wants to do with her life. She's never really been able to picture what her future would be like.
• Rin's favourite flower is a gladiolus.
• Rin is right-handed.
• Rin got her ears pierced in camp, three holes in each ear. She chose that number deliberately because that's how many piercings Haru has in each ear. The idea is that if she does something permanent to her body, she won't forget her experiences in camp like so many other people have.
• Rin occasionally smokes, but it's not really a habit with her. She mainly does it when she's alone and away from the rest of the camp, when she wants to distract herself for just a moment from how lonely she feels.

Rin and Food


• Rin is quite fond of cherry jello, grilled cheese sandwiches, and oden. They're not the only things she'll eat, but it's what she's most willing to eat.
• Rin's favourite kind of tea is green tea. In general, she prefers tea over coffee, although she tends to drink coffee more often for the caffeine. She takes her coffee black, no sweetener.
• Rin's favourite ice cream is vanilla, preferably with strawberry syrup on top.
• In general, Rin isn't overly fond of sweets.
• Rin never eats in the Mess Hall, and doesn't eat around other people, with the exception of Haru. She simply isn't comfortable eating around people. That being said, she always takes good care of the dishes she uses, and returns them promptly and in good condition. She is okay with drinking in front of people, but still prefers not to do it most of the time.

• Rin still thinks she was doing the right thing by not telling Haru about her accident and why she broke up with him.
• Incidentally, Rin thinks Black Haru's hot.

Rin and her Physical/Mental Health


• Rin has really, ridiculously poor physical health. She gets sick fairly often, and she's plagued by stomach ulcers as well.
• Rin rarely sleeps for more than three or four hours at a time. Usually, it's even less than that.
• Rin frequently has nightmares, and often cries in her sleep. When she's particularly sick, she talks in her sleep as well. Mostly, these are about her parents yelling about how they could never love her and hitting her. Some are about Akito calling her worthless and hitting her. If she's done something recently to call Akito's attention to her, the nightmares take a turn towards Akito hurting Hatsuharu because Rin is being bad.
  
  ETA 7/30/09: The latest feature to her nightmares involves Dietrich. The most disturbing of them involves being forced to kill Hatori. Those ones always end before she finishes the act, but it never fails to make her scream.
• Okay, Rin and hitting: While she has very little problem (at the time) with hitting someone if they make her mad enough, getting hit herself would make her completely freeze up. She actually gets very annoyed with herself if she does get that mad, however. She prefers to use words over violence, and the loss of control over her own temper disturbs her.
• Ever since the incident with Akito, Rin's been a little afraid of heights. And windows.
