Why say something nice when you can call names?

You make a really good point. I have no idea why people are so opposed to a nationalized health plan, or why that makes supporters of the cause socialists. Of course, I could think of worse insults than to be called a socialist.

What I do worry about is that due to the opposition of this program, the plan is going to be botched when it does release. I'll be so happy when the stupid "pre-existing condition" ordeal is no more- people can't help if they were born with asthma, or arthritis, or worse. Everyone deserves decent health care, and heaven knows that when we didn't have insurance, it was scary- not to mention expensive.

I got a stinkin' kidney stone when I was uninsured...but it ended up being a big fiasco because it didn't show up on x-ray, so I had to get a catscan. Then when it did pass, I was vomiting so much that I had to go to the ER. It's unbelievable how much it cost.

Having received medicaid and then been on a couple other plans, I actually thought that medicaid was, by far, the best run system of insurance.
