Yeah, even though I grew up just as the internet was getting exposed to the public, I am constantly amazed at how much I take it for granted. I never worry about maps, phone books, or encyclopedias anymore, because I know that any information I might need I can find on Google. That's the piece of technology I am most astounded by.

The one that gets me is cell phones. It's amazing how they have changed the ways we schedule ourselves and communicate with others now that we're expected to always be within reach of a phone.

I think it's good in many ways, but I don't always like the assumption/expectation of instant accessibility all the time. (Speaking as one who is guilty of having such expectations.)

So funny, and so true! We are so spoiled now and we take - everything - for granted.

Personally, I love the miracle of human flight!

Ah...the command line. Back in the day when Boy George was still popular, my high school had Apple computers. When I went to university and logged on to the network for the first time, I saw a 'C:\>'; confused, I logged on to the other account and it was 'flux@network %'.

Uh....ok, what the $%^&*% do I do now?!

Oops! Yeah, it took me a while to get the hang of UNIX, although I've gotten pretty attached my GUIs. It takes a major effort to use command line now. :-P
