A Rubin's Tube! That was a big hit when our Society of Physics Students built one last year. A visible demonstration of sound waves with music and fire - a great combination.

It certainly caught the student's attention. They even talked about it in the local paper a year or two ago, although didn't mention I'd built it. :~(

I had no idea it had a name, though. Mr. Tollefson just showed me a video of a demonstration and said, "I want you to build that for me." :-)

So is this how your SPS chapter built it?
