Heat was the sun on your face and sweaty salty skin and frak that was good, that time on shore leave when Sharon was still someone you called Boomer and beat in every single drinking contest, card game, race-you-back-to-the-barn ever. Back when bars were where you went to get nice and fried or else they were the kind you leaned on to add a little extra weight when you were supposed to be spotting her. And she laughed and yelled at the same time with her face screwed up and her arms and her pecs screaming at her, must have been, but she did five more presses anyway and told you to go frak yourself before heading for the showers. They weren't the things you looked at her through and cuffs were kinky not what was keeping everyone safe from what she might be capable of ( ... )

Wow, very hot. I can totally see Sharon in this- the laughter and yelling at the same time, her covering her face with the pillow. I don't think I've ever really believed Sharon/Starbuck before but I do now.

Thank you! I'm glad it worked for you - it was only those few scenes we got last season that made me go 'oooh, Sharon/Kara!' Clicked for me ever since. :)

oh oh, you just broke my heart. that longing is so very Starbuck. it's such a gorgeous picture of the unthinking, ferocious happiness she used to have. and the ending is so perfect!
