Characters: Most of Europe
Rating: Well, there's no sex, and no real violence, so apart from bad language, it's floating around the 13+ area at best.
Pairings: None. It's really not that sort of fic, since the whole thing is about shifting alliances. Slight leaning towards Austria/ Hungary, England/ Prussia, England/ Portugal, England/ France, France

I'm happy to see some of evil!France's features, but your characterization of him must be one of the most vicious I've ever seen. Not that it's off character at all...
But when it comes to Spain... I kind of miss his more "bossly" like features. I don't want to say that you've made him look like a wimp, but definitely he's too good natured. I know you love him and have a secret crush for him asdfghj England and Spain flirting while Portugal's out scouting? SCOUTING?! but I'd say he'd definitely need some more initiative/recklesness in his acts. It is no coincidence that we say Spain doesn't know the meaning for "please".
And this is a SPRM heaven XD

TOO MUCH SPRM ON THE DANCEFLOOR.
I know, I know.
But... he was kind of a pussy around that time. What with the whole puppet- state- getting- his- arse- kicked- by- everyone, but you are entirely right in saying that he needs to be a little bit more of a lunatic boss. My bias is so lame. orz;
BUT THANK YOUUU~
I think, characterisations as a whole need to be a little bit more vicious, because what these men were capable and did were sometimes almost evil. England, and Spain very much included.

Russia's happy grin while waving around a dead frog on a stick? I'm stuck between eeeww and buhyoo here. Dilemma.

Lol, I know. I had no idea that a random declaration encouraged by Prussia helped to make the Revolutionary wars even worse. He just couldn't handre kings being disrespected.
Russia's a creepy sod at the best of times, but my God he can provide some man- power. Plus he's a pretty good father too.

The scene with the Italian brothers is heartbreaking.
I think it's perfectly possible to read this without seeing pairings, but I confess I do like the spero undertones XD

Except for England.
England doesn't tend to divert away from his MUST OPPOSE FRANCE position for most of his existence.
Mmmmm. I just found it so interesting that the North and South were divided so much in real life during this era. Especially in the case of Sicily who was pretty much the only state besides England that was consistently at war with France during the campaigns.
But-- but yes. Orz. They're hard to avoid thanks to manga characterisations, but also history too. A major agreement that France made to keep Spain on side was to cede parts of Italy back to Spain. That and the speed at which the Two Sicilies reinstated the Bourbon monarchy kind of keeps ties close. At least until the real push for Italian unification.
... blah blah blah.
I'm fooling no one.
Spero is my OTP. Even when it's nothing more than a guardian- beloved charge relationship. ;3;
