I did not expect Mark to ask Scotty's help... it was interesting.

"Mark, this is a cheque for nearly 25.000 dollars!" Kind gesture, the guy is not that bad....

Mark is more naïf than evil. I think he more planned to trade in Scotty's smartness for Greg's smartness, and just continue his happy little life, but then he discovered how petty and cruel Greg is.

And I think he also knew that Scotty didn't hate him enough to send him away, but I do suspect he had hoped that he'd get more out of it. ;)
