OMG I spent HOW much?!

Oct 30, 2009 23:22

Well today was payday.  The first full payday without a huge car payment (oh Yeah!), no insurance bill due; I just have to pay rent and pay back money I borrowed from one of  my many sons to pay the cable bill. (really, I only have three sons - and the son-in-law)

The problem is that I went a little crazy at the bookstore.  I paid for a hardback ( ( Read more... )

I'm excited about these books in a totally undignified, weird way. That's what happens when you're a book addict and have to watch your pennies for so long. Get some money and binge! Yeah, that's what I did.

Ohh, added Tempest Rising to my TBR wishlist :) Which I have handed to the Irish Sailor in a hint about what would be good to get me for my birthday. LOL.

I'm excited you got so many books. That's awesome.

I like male UF writers too. Jim Butcher being one of my favs. I should add that one as well. *goes to add*

The KA one was really good :) Just read it not to long ago. Was my promotion present to myself.

I'm glad you liked the KA one. I did read a review awhile ago, someone didn't like it. But they had a hard time because of all the pov's. Which to me isn't a bad thing. I've read a lot of books that go back and forth between pov's and I think Kelley A does it pretty well. I'm going to have a hard time deciding which one to read first. throw them in the air and pick the one that lands closest to me?

When's your birthday? do you have a wish list on amazon.fail?

lol, I have a wishlist but it is very out of date - haven't updated it in several years. Birthday is the 4th. I'm the big 28 this year...

I'd read Kelley's first, but I'm a big fan of hers. And she did the multiple POV's well. I would guess that the person who reviewed it reads mostly UF and UF tends to stick to one or two. I read a lot of regular fantasy too so I'm used to/like the many POV's. Who knows. Reviews are very subjective.

I can't wait for Frostbitten in paperback :)

What I love about Kelley Armstrong's regular series is that you don't have to wait too long for the paperbacks to come out (after being in hardback). Seems other authors or their publishers end up waiting a year. 12 MONTHs.
That's a long time.

re: birthday - November 4th? that's the day after my daughter. how odd.

In my family, we have a lot of winter birthdays. My kids and my nieces- all in winter or spring. I'm a summer baby. (summer oldie actually)My poor mom. When I was pregnant I didn't need any coats in the winters (four winters). I can just imagine how miserable she was.
