So, Lita_of_Jupiter pointed out that there are simply not enough good Oz fanfics out there. I entirely agree. (And am currently pestering her to write a Hackers crossover with Oz. Please?)

I have also been reading Patricia Brigg's series of Mercy Thompson books.

For those of you who don't know them, a brief bit of background: In the books, Mercy ( Read more... )

Me again!

This also sounds cool... let's nag someone to do this!

I love that their are pretty cool and laid back musicians with furry problems.
Oz would become a good ally to Bran and his pack but likely wouldn't join it I think.
1-Oz's wolf is pretty different and because of prolonged contact with demons doesn't seem to play well with other Wolfs (see dead Veruca)
2- Oz is more of a Lone Wolf, he likes to wander and not stay in place to long
3-if he joined there could be a conflict with those submission issues.

in the Mercy Universe, can the wolves shift during the day?

Because you are right: Oz is a great character who needs more adventures.

And yeah, they can shift whenever they want to, but they also shift automatically three days out of the month and when emotions run high.

There are Lone Wolves in the Mercy universe, who don't belong to any specific pack but do follow the rules (don't eat pedestrians, etc.) Bran oversees them, too, not through pack loyalty so much as through might making right, but he's a good guy. One of other Lone Wolves (Christiansen) is a mercenary who specializes in hostage retrieval and really doesn't get along with other werewolves. I can imagine Oz getting help from Bran and then being introduced to Christiansen as a possible resource for the occasional job in his wanderings. (One of the reasons why Christiansen doesn't like werewolves is that, like Oz, he was confronted by his woman having moved on in his absence and, unlike Oz, there wasn't a Slayer around to stop him.)

So the control issues would help them too... nice!

poor Christiansen! I can really see him and Oz either getting along great or not. It would be a nice way to make money working retrieval and not stop his wandering ways.

and that Universe would supply a nice structure of Were society in the Buffy-verse as well since we know next to nothing about how they behave and deal especially if demon influences them so much so no need to create a situation where he gets chucked into another world.

and a good way to introduce the two would be if his little cousin who bit him was joining the pack and so brought him into contact with the others.

I think life on a Hellmouth must be a lot different from life pretty much anywhere else. At least that's a theory that makes crossovers a lot easier, and in this case there's even canonical evidence for it.
