One thing that seems unusual though is that the Doctor is supposed to be a thoroughly nonviolent person (while the others around him resort to fisticuffs or violence), so that early scene where he beats up a bunch of punks seemed a bit out of place.
Fair enough (to both this and maramala's response.) Truth be told, I haven't seen any of the old-generation Doctor Who for... um... fifteen years or so, and I don't remember ever seeing Pertwee's Doctor. I can really only remember Tom Baker and some of Peter Davidson.
Besides, I think prefer "Pertwee being a scrapper" to "Tenant is a Technical Pacifist, and as a result comes across as a vicious hypocrite in various episodes."
