Jul 01, 2010 23:06

So. I am declaring July to be THE MONTH OF MEMES. Despite my not-so-successful history of completing memes, I am taking on not ONE, but TWO thirty day memes. Yes, that's right, two memes for the price of one. At the same time. What could possibly go wrong?Well, it's this or probably descend back into lurking for the rest of the summer. So, without ( Read more... )

Heh, I went and tumblred it immediately after posting. :D I also realised I couldn't NOT add another of my favorite quotes, so there are three categories of favourite quotes, now: New School, Old School, and Shalka. :D

PERUVIAN FOLK BAND! *loves* And AWW, Benton. He and Rory are the two Who boys that give me this enormous urge to take them home and bake them cookies. Don't ask me why.

(And I never watched Kingdom, but you putting Stephen Fry, Colin Baker and Tom Baker in the same paragraph fills me with glee, because in my personal canon all three of them are the Doctor.)

I now want fic that somehow involves Rory and Benton bonding over cookies. I DON'T KNOW, BUT IT SHOULD HAPPEN.

I shall tempt you with this clip (watch starting from 4mins30sec in to about 6mins30seconds), in which Peter Kingdom, the local police chief, and an enthusiastic local citizen are on a stake-out to catch who's behind the crop circles that have been turning up in local fields, and discover a little more alien activity than they bargained for, so to speak. <3

I'll supply the cookies. :P

OMG the impersonator looks perfect! *dies* And I watched the whole thing and kept thinking "That's my Thirteen", as Kingdom sounds exactly the way I always envisioned Fry!Doctor.

I never watched any Kingdom but you have convinced me that maybe I should try!

You should, it's such a cute little show. And hey, there are only 18 episodes! (which, I believe, you might be able to find by searching for 'Stephen Fry Kingdom' on a certain well-known streaming video site.)

Oh, KINGDOM. I loved you so. I don't understand why they cancelled you. True, you were nothing groundbreaking or edgy, but that's okay--we all need the televisual equivalent of macaroni cheese now and then, warm and comforting and delightful.

I live in hope that, in the grand, if bizarre, tradition of UK telly programming, someone will yet resuscitate you for us. Please. Pretty please.

Heh, I like that - the television equivalent of macaroni and cheese, because that's pretty much exactly what it was. I could eat it in whole giant bowl-fulls.

*keeps fingers crossed that it'll come back some day*

I couldn't not have that Shalka quote, I realised. Although, really, my favourite quote OF ALL TIME would have to be the Doctor and the Master's answering machine message in Shalka. BUT IT DEFIES TRANSCRIPTION. There is simply no way to convey it's awesomeness by in simple words.
