OMG is this what it's like to be sorta productive?

Since Avi ended up co-oping today, I washed all the baby clothes, plus a load of our clothes. When the baby clothes came out of the dryer, I sorted them by size and packed them in bags until we have a dresser. I cleaned the bassinet within an inch of its life. I finished up a Suddenly Sprockets! project and sent it off to my boss. I started editing ( Read more... )

It was a productive day. I figure I should have them every once in a while.

I would have had trouble BEFORE pregnancy with that level of non-work activity. NOW? *impossible*

*bzuh?* What? You're not allowed to eat lox during pregnancy?

Fuck that noise! I'll tell you right now, if I ever get pregnant, I'm eating lox, dammit! OM NOM NOM

Because of the risk of contamination, doctors say no raw or undercooked meats/fish/etc. No sushi, no lox, etc. I would kill for a bagel and lox or a bagel with whitefish salad. Let's not talk about what I would do for a plate of sashimi. :(

No cheese made from unpasteurized milk. No deli meat unless it's been heated to steaming. Etc and so on into infinity, as far as I can tell.

It's flocked or I'd link you to it, but thefourthvine has a hilarious rant about how every single thing pregnant women ingest is deadly. That's pretty much how it feels.

How is your supply of boy clothes? I know you had a lot of unisex stuff for Yael (what with the pink aversion and all!).

I would say that in smaller sizes, we'll have *plenty*. We have a metric ton of unisex 0-3 months and I'm sure when I get the bigger stuff back, it'll be the same. I suspect things won't start to get dicey until, oh, 18 or 24 months or so. That's when my mother started finding non-pink but still very very very girly stuff to buy.

But unfortunately, I have to pry things out of Jeff and Rachel's house, so who knows when I'll get my hands on everything. ::eyeroll::

I'm pleased to note that when I was sorting clothes the other day, and I said something about "is this too pink?", Avi's reaction was "Eh, who cares?" Wouldn't it be funny if Avi was more relaxed about the girly clothing than me? Hee.

bbHubby was supposed to be the 3rd girl as the 3rd child of his parents. When he showed up with a Y chromosome, his mother's comment "now what am I supposed to do with THAT?!" was in reaction to the fact she had EVERYTHING for a girl, nada for a boy. He lived the first portion of his life in pink and frufru stuff. He's not a fan of pink and frufru on ANYONE (tho I can see him changing his mind if we have a frufru daughter), but other than that, there's been no detrimental effects that I can see. :) It is likely a good thing that I'm not a pink lass, and frufru? Umm, I'm allergic to damn near everything that goes INTO being frufru! It was never really my gig anyway.

There are so many good reasons to not buy all pink for a little girl. One of them is that you have to buy twice as much clothing if you then have a boy :D

I'm glad I insisted on as little pink as possible, so we'll at least have clothing for Thing 2 for a while.

Nicely productive. Dare I say, 'nesting'? (no throwing of old shoes!)

::laughs:: Of course it's nesting. Unfortunately nesting doesn't mean I'm happy or excited. In fact, nesting usually means that I'm worried and upset. When I'm happy and relaxed about whatever's coming up, I don't run about fussing about things.
