One-third of people reading CNN.com think it's fair to criticize Elizabeth Edwards for keeping her husband's affair secret. ::headdesk:: Right, because obviously the whole thing is her fault. Even given the obviously non-scientific nature of the poll, that pisses me off ( Read more... )

Oh well obviously she should have...uh, I actually I can't figure out what she was supposed to do. But I'm sure some nosy idiot with too much time on their hands could probably come up with something.

I mean, it'd be one thing if she'd known he was embezzling money or something. Then it'd be criminal to keep it secret. But really...

Aren't you exempt as a spouse from incriminating your partner? I can't really imagine that you have to report someone if you are allowed to keep quiet in court.

You're not required to testify against your spouse in court, but this is (as they say) the court of public opinion. So legally she wasn't required to do anything, but morons still think she should have.

What's more annoying is that it's morons ON MY SIDE. Apparently it's the Democrats who're saying she should have said something. ARGL.

Keep in mind that when a whack-a-poll goes up on a web site, the call goes out for people to go respond. And usually the response has less to do with what people actually believe than with which answer they think would make the other side crazy. So the results reflect which web sites are telling people to go vote. So the results are completely meaningless.

The real *headdesk* moment was that they ran a poll with that question in the first place.
