So, sixbeforelunch posted a link to this news story about Angelina Jolie. And she excerpted the following bit:

“I'm very happy,” said the Oscar-winning actress. “Like most women, I love being pregnant.” She added that pregnancy makes “you feel like more like a woman than you've ever felt. You just feel like everything about your body is there for your baby.”So ( Read more... )

I absolutely loved being pregnant, especially since I was almost certain that I couldn't *get* pregnant.

*But* it didn't make me feel "more womanly". It made me feel good about my body, not because it was a woman's body but because it was my body and it was doing exactly what it should be.

Pregnancy was also annoying, achey, grumpy, nauseating, totally messed with my hormones for *years* and was very, very weird in many ways.

Hell yeah on the annoying, achey, grumpy...Ugh.

And I definitely know what you mean about being certain I couldn't get pregnant!

I'm another of those insufferable people who loved it, even though I had some mild discomfort (nausea for 3 months) and some minor scares (incarcerated uterus, fainting in third trimester requiring one hospital night and one stitch in my lip). I confess that these items are, in relative terms, mere blips ( ... )

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to doing it while chasing a sproglet at the same time. Ugh.

Like minisinoo, I think I enjoyed the permission to get pissed off best :D

I will honestly admit that one of the BEST thing about being pregnant was being treated as extra special.

Heh. I did like having the excuse to get pissy at people. Although it was mostly not on purpose.

::coughs:: Like the time a male coworker interrupted me as I was on my way to the kitchen to get some food. I kept trying to tell him to wait and he wouldn't let me go, until I said, "Mark, if you do not let me get my lunch, I am going to GNAW YOUR ARM OFF."

And I (as I'm sure you realize) was not kidding. He let me go.

Later I explained to him that you never ever ever ever get between a pregnant woman and food. Ever.

Hmm, I liked seeing her in the ultrasounds. Uh...and the kicks were fun for about a month or two.

That's all I can think of!

Never been pregnant, but my mom would be muttering something impolite right now about how nice is must be to have the nausea end after the first trimester.

I had nausea in the first and third trimester. It was actually worse at the end than at the beginning. ::shrug::
