You know, it's times like this that I feel like a spatial/mechanical idiot. All I wanted to do was put the *&#$% windshield wiper refills on my car, 'cause if I wait for Avi to do it, I'll be shedding rubber bits all over the road for the next six months ( Read more... )

I had a horrible time the last time I tried to change the windshield wipers! Those pictures are just useless! It took me about 20 minutes, so you're 5 minutes up on me. LOL.

Actually, I've been cheating the last year. I let the Wal-Mart dudes check the wipers when I get my oil changed. :)

Again, good luck with The Socks.

That's 15 minutes to stab myself twice and *not* fix one side. The other I left alone, since I figured breaking one refill was enough for one day.

Chaos, destruction, anarchy: my work here is done.

::sigh:: I really wanted to do it to prove to Avi that I'm not totally mechanically useless. Instead, I managed to prove that I am. ::sigh::

Ow! I tend to learn through watching something get done and then trying it myself. Maybe if you can work with him one more time you can DIY the next time.

Are those dudes on Car Talk still on at NPR? I learned a lot about cars from them. It sort of irks me that I can't do a whole heck of a lot, carwise, but my dad spent more money restoring his Camaro than he did on my college (ha, and I went to USC!), and my cousin is a mechanic, so I ask them about the stuff I don't understand. I flat out didn't get the inclinations for the technical stuff. And that's okay!
